CHICOPEE, Mass. – November 12, 2016 – The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team earned a road victory as they outswam Elms College. The Chargers posted a 166.5-89.5 victory over the host Blazers.
COMPLETE RESULTS
Colby-Sawyer posted 10 individual first place finishes and a pair relay top times.
Senior
Meghan Mamlock placed first in the 200 and 400 meter freestyle races. Mamlock earned the top times of 2:20.65 and 5:01.29 respectively.
Senior
Anna Zdziarski earned a pair of first place finishes in the 50 and 100 meter breaststroke events. Zdziarski finished the 50 in a time of 38.54 and the 100 in 1:24.07.
Junior
Makenzie Welch put in her second straight day of top finishes, earning a pair of top times in the 100 meter backstroke and the 100 meter IM. Welch finished in times of 1:15.52 and 1:18.56 respectively.
Sophomore
Meagan Thomsen was the fourth Charger to earn a pair of top finishes. Thomsen placed first in the 50 meter backstroke (35.22) and the 50 meter freestyle (31.45).
Junior
Anna Gaskill placed first in the 800 meter freestyle. Gaskill earned the top time of 10:52.02.
Freshman
Samantha Eaton placed first in the 100 meter butterfly. Eaton finished in 1:20.15.
The 200 meter medley relay team of
Makenzie Welch,
Anna Zdziarski,
Samantha Eaton and
Meagan Thomsen earned a first place finish. The team finished in 2:18.65.
The 200 meter freestyle relay team of
Meghan Mamlock,
Meagan Thomsen,
Anna Zdziarski and
Makenzie Welch rounded out the top finishes for the Chargers. The foursome finished in a time of 2:04.58.
The Chargers return to action Friday November 18
th when they travel to Potsdam, N.Y. for the North Country Invitational. The two day event begins Friday at 4:00 p.m.
