CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - October 6, 2016 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to MIT, which is ranked third in the latest New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) regional poll. The Engineers won by scores of 25-9, 25-15 and 25-16.
MIT improves to 17-3. Colby-Sawyer will play its second straight NEWVA ranked team in UMass Boston on Saturday at noon before a 5 p.m. match against Coast Guard.
Naarah Cox led the Chargers with seven kills on .333 hitting.
Jaia Woodland added three kills.
Olivia Goodrich assisted on 14 of the Chargers' 16 kills, while
Gabrielle Rodriguez collected a team best seven digs.
MIT's Megan Gebhard led all players with 16 kills on .406 hitting. Teammate Alli Danzo hit .700 and finished with seven kills. Clare Farley registered a match best six aces.
