Colby-Sawyer junior
Eddie Garcia (Damascus, Md.) scored the game's first goal in the 19th minute when he finished from the top of the box into the right side of the net. The play was set up by freshman
Danilo Salgado (Essex Junction, Vt.).
The visitors applied more offensive pressure for much of the second half and finally broke through with an equalizer in the 82nd minute. Colby-Sawyer committed a foul to the right of the box setting up a free kick taken by senior Conor Douglass (Rockport, Mass.). He sent a bending ball into a group of players waiting in the box where sophomore Cooper Valinski (Portsmouth, N.H.) flicked the ball with his head into the right corner of the goal.
Four minutes later, New England College took a 2-1 lead off the foot of freshman Siad Haji (Manchester, N.H.). Sophomore Miguel Argueta (Norwalk, Conn.) started the action with a hard shot that was saved by Colby-Sawyer goalie
Jake Towle (Barnstead, N.H.). The ball bounced off the keeper and found the oncoming Haji who finished his team leading ninth goal of the season.
Freshman Maxime Danis (Waterloo, Quebec) had four stops for New England College, while Towle finished with six saves for the Chargers.
The Pilgrims finished with a 19-10 advantage in shots, while the Chargers held a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
