NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 22, 2016 – The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team opened the 2016-17 season with a 147-115 win over Norwich University on Saturday afternoon.

The Chargers earned eight first places finishes en route to the opening day victory.
Seniors
Meghan Mamlock and
Anna Zdziarski led the Chargers with a pair of top individual times as well as helping the opening relay to the top spot.
Mamlock placed first in the 200 yard freestyle (2:07.53) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:46.08), while Zdziarski took home the top places in the 50 yard (34.99) and 100 yard breaststroke (1:16.85). The duo, along with junior
Makenzie Welch and freshman
Samantha Eaton, earned the top finish in the 200 yard medley relay (2:01.46).
Makenzie Welch also added an individual first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke. The junior finished in a time of 1:06.43.
Sophomore
Meagan Thomsen placed first in the 50 yard backstroke. Thomsen touched the wall at 31.01.
Junior
Anna Gaskill rounded out the first place finishes with the top time in the 50 yard butterfly. Gaskill came away with a time of 31.42.
The Chargers return to the pool on November 5
th when they travel to Saint Michael's College. The meet is slated for a 1:00pm start.
