BOSTON, Mass. - October 21, 2016 - Freshman
Jaia Woodland had a match best 11 kills on .556 hitting to lead the Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team to a 3-0 win at Suffolk on Friday night. The Chargers won by scores of 25-20, 25-14 and 25-5.
The Chargers improve to 8-19 and will host North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opponents Husson and UMPI on Saturday. Suffolk drops to 9-12.
Colby-Sawyer hit .239 as a team and recorded an impressive 13 kills on 17 attempts in the third set to hit .706.
Woodland recorded her 11 kills on 18 attempts with just one error. Freshman
Naarah Cox also had an efficient night at the net with six kills on .400 hitting to go along with four blocks.
Gabrielle Rodriguez and
Courtney Murray added six and five kills, respectively. Rodriguez also collected a match-high 10 digs.
Olivia Goodrich tallied 21 assists.
Chidera Nwankwo led the Rams with seven kills on .667 hitting. Bridget Allison added five kills and six blocks.
