GORHAM, Maine - October 19, 2016 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team was edged by Southern Maine, 3-0 on Wednesday night in a match that saw all three sets be decided by two points. The Huskies won by scores of 28-26, 25-23 and 25-23.
The Chargers will play at Suffolk on Friday before concluding the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) regular season at home on Saturday with matches against UMPI and Husson. Souther Maine improves to 14-9.
Freshman
Naarah Cox and senior
Gabrielle Rodriguez led the Chargers with eight kills and two blocks apiece. Freshman
Micaela Cardozo added six kills and 10 digs.
Olivia Goodrich collected 25 assists, while
Ashley Kinley registered a team best 13 digs.
Souther Maine was led by match-highs of 19 kills and 15 digs from Jess Williamson. Kylee Austin tallied seven kills and three blocks. Setter Megan Nilson recorded 27 assists, four kills, seven digs, three blocks and three aces.
