HENNIKER, N.H. - October 1, 2016 – The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team suffered a 4-1 defeat to New England College in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on a dreary Saturday afternoon.
With the win the Pilgrims improve to 5-5-0 overall and grab their first conference win of the season improving to 1-2. The loss drops the Chargers to 3-4-1 overall and even their NAC record at 1-1-1. Colby-Sawyer will host non-conference foe Pine Manor on Monday.?
NEC's Sina Samali broke the scoreless tie by heading in a cross from teammate Camille Sheehan in the 42nd minute.
The Pilgrims extended the lead to 2-0 just three minutes into the second half as Siad Haji found the foot of Brian Jumpp who would find the back of the net with his second goal of the season. NEC took a 3-0 advantage in the 64th minute as Haji tallied his fourth goal of the season.
Colby-Sawyer got on the board shortly after as
Zach Elmore sent a shot from 30 yards out that found the upper left corner of the net making it 3-1.
NEC added an insurance goal just 30 seconds later as Haji and Masamba would hook up again.
NEC goalie Maxime Danis recorded five saves in the win. Colby-Sawyer keeper
Jake Towle finished with 10 saves.
