NEW LONDON, N.H. – April 7, 2015 – The Colby-Sawyer women's lacrosse team earned their fourth North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win of the year with a 17–4 victory over Green Mountain College.
With the win, the Chargers improve to 4-5 overall and 4-2 in NAC play, while the Eagles drop to 1-7 overall and 0-5 in the NAC.
The Chargers and Eagles exchanged a goal apiece to begin the game. Colby-Sawyer would then controll the remainder of the first half, scoring the games next 11 goals and outshooting the Eagles 24-1. The Chargers took a commanding 12-1 lead into the half.
The Eagles came out of the half by scoring two of the first three goals of the frame. The Chargers responded by netting four of the game's final five goals while outshooting the Eagles 13-4 in the second half en route to a 17-4 win.

Caitlyn Whearty (Hampstead, N.H.) led all scorers with four goals and an assist for the Chargers. Senior
Carly Baker (Beverly, Mass.) netted three goals and assisted on another three for a six point game. Senior
Alyssia Janak (Bourne, Mass.) added three goals and an assist of her own while freshmen
Nicole Lavigne (Berlin, Vt.) and
Bailey Starr (Barre, Vt.) each scored twice. Junior
Katie Cawley (Abington, Mass.), junior
Shannon Green (Canton, Mass.) and freshman
Molly Mulcahy (Nashua, N.H.) also found the back of the net for the Chargers in the win.
Green Mountain was led by junior Maegen Laymon (Ilion, N.Y.) and freshman Catie Brewster (Kingston, N.Y.). The duo each netted a pair of goals in the loss.
Colby-Sawyer sophomore goalkeeper
Meghan Castellano (Wallingford, Conn.) picked up her fourth win of the season, while her counterpart sophomore Cassie Sharp (Newbury, Mass.) stopped nine shots in the loss.
Colby-Sawyer returns to action tomorrow when the Chargers host Southern Vermont College for a 3:00pm draw. Green Mountain travels to Castleton on Thursday.
