Nathan Frongillo Ends Season with 12-Game Hitting Streak

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - April 28, 2015 - The Colby-Sawyer and Lyndon baseball teams split a doubleheader on the final day of the regular season, Tuesday afternoon. The Chargers took the first game 5-3, while Lyndon won game two 8-3.

Game One - Colby-Sawyer 5, Lyndon 3

Chris Hood opened the scoring in the top of the third with a two-run single down the left field line, scoring Nathan Frongillo and Joey Fenuccio.

Fenuccio kept the Chargers going in the fourth when he singled to right field, eventually scoring Connor Henry.

The run that would become the game-winner came across in the top of the fourth when Fenuccio stole second base, allowing Jeff Dunn to steal home, plating Colby-Sawyer's fourth run.

Lyndon would make the game interesting in its final at-bat scoring twice on a pair of doubles, but the Chargers came away with the 5-3 victory.

Hood went 2-3, while Fenuccio added a hit and two runs. Frongillo extended his hit streak to 11 games.

Mike Peters tossed six innings and gave up one run on four hits to earn the win.

Game Two - Lyndon 8, Colby-Sawyer 3

The Chargers scored single runs in the first, third and seventh, but Lyndon was able to put at least one run across in five of its six at-bats to win the night cap 8-3.

Chris Hood added two more hits and two RBI to lead the Charger hitters. Nathan Frongillo went 1-for-4 to end the season with a 12-game hitting streak.
