HANOVER, N.H. – March 28, 2015 – The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team began North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division play with a 9-0 victory over Lyndon at the Boss Tennis Center on the campus of Dartmouth College, on Saturday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 4-8 overall and 1-0 in the NAC. The Chargers begin a stretch of three straight road matches on Tuesday at Castleton. Lyndon falls to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in conference action. The Hornets travel to Castleton on Tuesday.
Rico Bailey and
Cass McCann teamed for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles over John Corey and Michael Sigsbury, while
Andrew Peloquin and
Justin Pinard also won their No. 2 doubles match by an 8-2 score over Dominick Agresta and Trevor Updike. The Chargers' third duo of
Clay Allen and
Ryan Sawyer did not drop a game in an 8-0 defeat of Kyle Burteau and Tyler Hall.
Peloquin, Pinard and Allen each won their singles matches 6-0, 6-0.
Ross Kenney picked up a straight sets victory 6-0, 6-1 in the fourth slot, while
Rico Bailey and
Ryan Broderick dropped only a pair of games in their straight set victories at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
