NEW LONDON, N.H. - February 25, 2015 – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team earned the top seed in the 2014-15 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) tournament and will host fourth seed Castleton on Friday, February 27 at 6:00 p.m. in the semifinals.

The Spartans earned a 70-60 win over No. 5 seed Thomas in a first round game on Tuesday to advance to Friday's semifinals.

The Chargers (17-6 overall) claimed the top seed in the conference tournament after posting a 15-3 record in NAC play and earned a bye in Tuesday's quarterfinal round. Colby-Sawyer enters Friday's game having won six of its last seven games to finish the regular season.

Colby-Sawyer is led by junior Peter Donato (Portland, Maine) who averages 15 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. He ranks third in the NAC with a 57.7 shooting percentage. Junior Wol Majong (Manchester, N.H.) adds 13.3 points per game and has made a team-high 45 three-pointers.

Castleton is led by Chad Copeland's 17 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. He ranks fifth in the NAC in scoring and second in rebounding. Rob Coloutti has a team best 89 three-pointers and averages 14.5 points per game.
Colby-Sawyer won both regular season meetings this year. On January 6, the Chargers earned a 72-64 road win and followed with a 78-60 triumph at home on February 11. The last time these two teams met in the NAC tournament was the championship game of the 2011-12 season. Castleton was the top seed and defeated Colby-Sawyer 102-76.

Second-seeded Husson (19-6 overall, 14-4 NAC) also earned a bye in the quarterfinals. Husson will play six seed Lyndon at 8:00 p.m. at Colby-Sawyer. The Hornets advanced to the semifinals after recording a 63-59 upset victory over No. 3 New England College on Tuesday.

Semifinal winners will square off for the conference championship on Saturday, February 28, at Colby-Sawyer at 2:00 p.m.

The NAC Champion will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship.
