LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - February, 19, 2015 - The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team had its five-game win streak snapped on Thursday night after a 79-71 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) loss at Lyndon.
The Chargers fall to 16-6 overall and sit tied atop the NAC standings with Husson at 14-3. Colby-Sawyer will host Johnson State at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in a regular season finale. The four Charger seniors will be honored prior to tip-off. Lyndon improves to 10-14 overall and 9-8 in the conference.
Koang Thok led the way for the Chargers with 21 points while
Wol Majong added 19 and three steals.
Peter Donato had 10 points.
The Hornets took a 19-13 lead 13 minutes into the game as both teams struggled to find an offensive rhythm. The Chargers used a 6-0 spurt capped by a
Wol Majong jumper to tie the score for the sixth time in the frame. Lyndon was able to close the half on a strong note and take a 34-24 lead into the locker room. Colby-Sawyer shot 39.1 percent in the first 20 minutes, while Lyndon was 59.1 percent.
Colby-Sawyer trailed by double digits for much of the second half, but came within seven on multiple occasions including once with 1:20 left after a
Koang Thok trey.
Lyndon held on for the victory and shot 54.7 percent for the game.
