NEW LONDON, N.H. – November 9, 2015 - The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team will make its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance when they travel to Amherst, Massachusetts to take part in a four-team regional. The Chargers will play regional host Amherst on Saturday, November 14. The game is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

th according to the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA), will host a pair of games on Saturday, November 14 and a single game on Sunday, November 15. The Colby-Sawyer versus Amherst winner will face the winner of #11 Brandeis (14-2-3) versus Western Connecticut State (16-5-1).
The Chargers (13-3-2) are coming off their third straight North Atlantic Conference (NAC) title. Colby-Sawyer earned a pair of 1-0 victories, defeating Maine Maritime in the semifinals and New England College in the championship to earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Colby-Sawyer is 0-2 in the NCAA Tournament having played in the last two. In 2013, the Chargers held the No. 2 team in the country, Montclair State, scoreless for more than 83 minutes but fell 1-0 after the Red Hawks scored in the 84th minute. Last season, the Chargers fell at No. 24 MIT, 3-1.
The Chargers and the Purple and White will meet for the 10th with Amherst holding a 9-0 advantage in the series. The two teams have not met since the 1999 season.

Rachel Quaye (Westminster, Mass.) leads the Chargers with 19 points on eight goals, including four game-winners, and three assists. Junior
Lizzie Jorgensen (Manchester, Vt.) has a team best six assists, while senior
Dominique Papa (Farmington, Conn.) is third on the team with 11 points on four goals and three assists.

Karley Hamilton has given up just 13 goals in 18 matches and boasts a .72 goals against average. She has nine solo shutouts this season.
The Purple and White went 6-2-2 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) regular season and earned the third seed in the postseason tournament. Amherst was upset in the quarterfinals by the sixth seed Panthers of Middlebury, 3-2.
Amherst is led by junior midfielder Emily Hester. She has a team best 20 points on nine goals, including five game-winners, and two assists. Sophomore Hannah Guzzi and freshman Maeve McNamara are tied for second on the team with 11 points. Starting goalkeeper Holly Burwick has surrendered just nine goals this season for a .61 goals against average.
