NEW LONDON, N.H. - November 7, 2015 - The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team was edged by Saint Michael's 152-125 in Saturday's home opening meet at the Knight Natatorium. RESULTSFive different Chargers came away with individual wins on the afternoon led by a three-win day from junior Meghan Mamlock.
Mamlock began her afternoon by winning the 200 freestyle in 2:08.48 just ahead of teammate Anna Gaskill. She then took the top spot in the 50 breaststroke in 35.62. Mamlock's last victory of the day was in the 100 breaststroke. She touched the wall in 1:18.88. Senior
Elaine Miller continued her dominance in the sprint freestyle events by winning the 50 and 100. She clocked in at 25.91 in the 50, while cruising to a victory in the 100 at 56.60.
Sophomore
Anna Gaskill won the 500 freestyle by 23 seconds in 5:47.17.
Freshman
Meagan Thomsen won her first race at the Knight Natatorium before the home crowd. She came away with first place in the 50 backstroke in a time of 31.21.
Sophomore
Makenzie Welch also won on Saturday. She swam the 100 IM in 1:08.09.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Mamlock, Welch, Gaskill, and Miller combined to win the event in 3:55.55 nearly four seconds faster than the team from Saint Michael's.
The Chargers will compete at home for the second straight week when they welcome Elms and Plymouth State on Saturday, November 14 for a 1 p.m. start.
