SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – November 11, 2015 – The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team fell at third seed Springfield College, 4-1 in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) quarterfinals, on Wednesday night.

Springfield improves to 15-4-1 and will go on to play second seed Wentworth in the ECAC semifinals on Saturday. The Leopards defeated seventh seed Norwich, 4-2 in Wednesday's other quarterfinal matchup. The Chargers' season ends with an 11-8 record.

After a two week layoff, Colby-Sawyer sophomore Denali Sexton (Barrington, R.I.) wasted no time getting back into form. Sexton scored the game's first goal 8:34 into the match when he finished a header pass from sophomore Eddie Garcia (Damascus, Md.) which was set up by a cross from junior Andrew Clothier (Matamata, New Zealand). Sexton finishes the year with Colby-Sawyer single season records of 18 goals, 13 assists and 49 points.

The Pride found the equalizer at 17:19 on a goal from sophomore Cam Powell (Housatonic, Mass.). Senior Connor Archambault (Torrance, Calif.) and junior Luke Alvaro (Chicopee, Mass.) were credited with assists.

Springfield took a 2-1 lead five minutes later when the Colby-Sawyer goalie mishandled a shot from sophomore Curtis Bolduc (South Windsor, Conn.).

The home team opened the scoring 3:27 into the second half to take a 3-1 lead. Sophomore Harrison Davis (Merrick, N.Y.) headed the ball past the dive of the Chargers keeper.  Alvaro and freshman Brad Deckel (Lansdale, Pa.) set up the play.

The Pride added an insurance goal with less than three minutes to play when Taylor Gilfoy (Holliston, Mass.) scored on a pass from sophomore Tim Wood (Derry, N.H.).
