HOLDERNESS, N.H. - October 31, 2015 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team concluded the regular season with a split in a pair of matches on Saturday at Plymouth State. The Chargers began the day with a 3-1 victory over Eastern Connecticut State, but fell to the Panthers 3-2 to end the evening.
The Chargers go to 10-24 and will host Lyndon State on Friday evening at 6 p.m. for a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) semifinal matchup.
Colby-Sawyer 3, Eastern Conn. 1 - 25-20, 25-19, 15-25, 25-18The Chargers were led by a career-high 16 kills on .289 hitting from senior
Kelsey Sullivan. She added 11 digs for the double-double. Junior
Gabrielle Rodriguez also reached double figure kills with 11.
Lexi Strong collected a match best 24 digs, while Laura Smollinski and
Gabrielle Ratte finished with 20 and 18 assists, respectively.
Plymouth State 3, Colby-Sawyer 2 - 25-15, 21-25, 18-25, 25-17, 15-12Gabrielle Rodriguez led all players with a career-high 18 kills in the five-set thriller against the Panthers. Rodriguez was second on the team with 17 digs. Freshman
Courtney Murray also reached a career best in kills with 12 on an impressive .360 hitting. She added a team best four blocks.
Kelsey Sullivan again achieved double figure kills with 12.
Lexi Strong led all players with 21 digs.
Gabrielle Ratte hit .429 for four kills and registered a match best 24 assists.
