NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 3, 2015 – The Colby-Sawyer College women's volleyball team earned a pair of 3-0 victories over Lyndon and Johnson State on Saturday, as all three teams began North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play.
With the two wins, Colby-Sawyer improves to 4-17 overall and 2-0 in the NAC. The Chargers will hit the road again for a 7:00 p.m. match at Wellesley on Wednesday.
Lyndon splits on the afternoon and goes to 3-7 overall and 1-1 in conference action. The Hornets host MCLA on Tuesday with first serve at 6:00 p.m.
Johnson State falls to 4-9 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The Badgers will continue NAC action on Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. home match against Green Mountain.
Colby-Sawyer 3, Johnson State 0 – 25-8, 25-8, 25-11Freshman
Courtney Murray (Quincy, Mass.) led the Chargers with a match best nine kills while hitting an impressive .571. She added a solo block and a block assist. Sophomore
Alli Lahiff (Haverhill, Mass.) had eight kills, while freshman
Gabrielle Ratte (Kula, Hawaii) added six kills and seven digs.

Kelsey McCulley (Southampton, N.Y.) ended the match with seven kills and seven aces.
The Badgers were led by junior Breanna Laughlin (San Jacinto, Calif.). She had five kills, eight digs and a block. Junior Anna Bingham (Island Pond, Vt.) collected a team best 10 digs.
Lyndon 3, Johnson State 2 – 15-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-22, 15-7The Hornets trailed 2-1 after three sets, but came from behind to win the final two sets and earn their first NAC win of the season.
Lyndon received a double-double from junior Kelleigh Murtaugh (Merrimack, N.H.) with 11 kills and 12 digs. Senior Laura Drake (Hinsdale, Mass.) filled the stat sheet with 20 assists, eight kills and eight digs. Junior Abbey Greene (Exeter, R.I.) collected a match best 23 digs, while junior Gwyneth Stahl (Whitinsville, Mass.) had 20 digs and four blocks.
Johnson State junior Breanna Laughlin (San Jacinto, Calif.) led all players with 21 kills and added 19 digs and six aces. Freshman Emily Peterson (Gorham, Maine) had a double-double of 14 assists and 19 digs, while junior Anna Bingham (Island Pond, Vt.) had 13 digs and 12 assists.
Colby-Sawyer 3, Lyndon 0 – 25-12, 25-15, 25-4The Chargers hit an impressive .329 for the match as they improved to 2-0 in the conference.
Colby-Sawyer was led by senior
Kelsey McCulley (Southampton, N.Y.). She registered a match-high 10 kills on .500 hitting and added four aces to give her 11 on the day.
Gabrielle Ratte (Kula, Hawaii) chipped in eight kills and four aces, while freshman
Courtney Murray (Quincy, Mass.) continued her efficient hitting with six kills on .417 hitting.
Laura Smolinski (Hebron, Conn.) had 29 assists, 10 digs and four aces.
Lyndon received five kills from senior Laura Drake (Hinsdale, Mass.). She added eight assists and four digs.
