NORTHFIELD, Vt. – October 24, 2015 – The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team opened the 2015-16 season with a dual meet versus the Cadets of Norwich University Saturday afternoon.
COMPLETE RESULTSThe Chargers opened the 2015-16 season with a 195-65 win over the Cadets.
The 200 yard medley relay team opened the day with a first place finish. The team of
Makenzie Welch,
Alex Dumont,
Anna Gaskill and
Elaine Miller finished in a time of 2:02.67.
Hannah Wilcutt earned the top finish in the 500 and 1000 yard freestyle events. Wilcutt finished in times of 6:21.17 and 12:54.95.
Meghan Mamlock placed first in the 200 yard freestyle. Mamlock earned the top time of 2:07.40.
Makenzie Welch finished with the top time in the 50 yard backstroke, finishing in 30.19.
Alex Dumont earned a pair of individual first place finishes on the day. Dumont placed first in the 50 yard breaststroke (36.88) and 100 yard breaststroke (1:21.12).
Anna Gaskill placed first in the 100 yard butterfly and the 200 yard IM. Gaskill finished in times of 1:11.10 and 2:33.45 respectively.
Elaine Miller was the top freestyle swimmer earning first place finishes in the 50 and 100 yard events. Miller finished with the top times of 26.09 and 56.95 respectively.
Anna Zdziarski placed first in the 50 yard butterfly. Zdziarski finished in a time of 30.33.
Welch, Mamlock, Zdziarski and Miller teamed up to place first in the 200 yard freestyle relay. The team finished in a time of 1:49.73.
Colby-Sawyer returns to the pool on November 7 when they host Saint Michael's College.
