WENHAM, Mass. – January 24, 2015 – The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team traveled to Gordon College Saturday. The Chargers lost in a closely contested meet to the Fighting Scots, 130-124.
COMPLETE RESULTSThe University of New England was also scheduled to compete at Gordon, but due to inclement weather the team did not travel.
Colby-Sawyer was paced by senior
Krystyna Estrada who posted a pair of individual wins on the day as well as helped the 200 yard freestyle team to a first place finish. Estrada earned the top time in the 50 yard freestyle (25.83) and the 100 yard IM (1:06.04).
The first place 200 yard freestyle relay team was composed of Estrada, junior
Elaine Miller, junior
Meghan Mamlock and freshman
Makenzie Welch. The team finished with the top time of 1:45.31.
Mamlock and Welch each earned individual first place finishes in addition to the 200 yard freestyle relay. Mamlock placed first in the 100 yard freestyle (58.51) and Welch had the best time in the 200 yard backstroke.
Sophomore
Anna Zdziarski placed first in the 50 yard butterfly. Zdziarski finished in a time of 31.13.
In addition to helping the 200 yard freestyle relay team,
Elaine Miller earned a pair of second place finishes. Miller placed second in the 200 yard backstroke (2:22.41) and the 50 yard backstroke (30.94).
Junior
Alex Dumont had a strong showing with two second place finishes. Dumont placed second in the 50 and 100 yard breaststroke events, finishing in times of 35.70 and 1:18.04 respectively.
Freshman
Anna Gaskill placed second in the 200 yard and 500 yard freestyle events. Gaskill finished the events in 2:11.71 and 5:55.82 respectively.
The 200 yard medley relay team of Miller, Dumont, Welch and Estrada finished second in a time of 2:00.01.
The Chargers return to the pool next Saturday when they host the Corsairs of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. The team will celebrate senior day with events beginning at 1:00pm.
