BOSTON, Mass. - January 17, 2015 – The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team traveled to Simmons College on Saturday to compete versus Sharks and the Pride of Regis College. Colby-Sawyer earned a 173-85 win over Regis, but fell to Simmons 94-175.

Krystyna Estrada finished in a time of 4:29.10. The team finished twenty seconds behind the Simmons relay team but earned first place points versus Regis. The Chargers finished 1:04 ahead of the Pride.
Junior
Elaine Miller and Estrada earned a one-two finish in the 200 yard freestyle. Miller earned the top spot in a time of 2:04.70 with Estrada finishing 0:00.07 behind.
Estrada earned a first place finish in the 50 yard freestyle. She earned the top time of 25.58.
Freshman
Anna Gaskill earned a first place finish in the 500 yard freestyle. Gaskill finished in the top time of 5:43.55.
In the 50 yard backstroke,
Makenzie Welch finished in a time of 30.40. Her time was the second best time in the event behind, but earned first place points versus Regis as she finished 0:01.43 ahead of the Pride's top swimmer. Welch also earned the second best time in the 200 yard backstroke finishing in a time of 2:17.99.
Junior
Samantha Dalphond earned a first place finish in the 1 meter dive event. Dalphond earned a total of 221.25 points.
The 400 yard freestyle relay team of Miller, Mamlock, Gaskill and Estrada earned the second best time. The relay team finish four seconds behind the Simmons' relay team, but earned first place points over Regis' top finishing team which finished 25 seconds behind the Chargers.
The Chargers return to the pool next Saturday when they travel to the University of New England. Events will begin at 1:00pm.
