NEW LONDON, N.H. - April 19, 2014 - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team ran its win streak to five straight matches on Saturday with a 9-0 sweep of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) foe Castleton.
The Chargers improve to 11-8 overall and are in first place in the NAC with a 5-0 record. The Spartans fall to 6-5 overall and drop to 3-2 in conference action.
Colby-Sawyer jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after doubles play.
Nathan Taschereau and
Myles Utell cruised to an 8-0 win at the top spot. The second and third doubles matches were also 8-0 sweeps.
Taschereau dropped just two games en route to a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles. Utell swept his opponent at the second flight, while
Clay Allen also picked up a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 5.
