NORTON, Mass. – April 12, 2014 - The Colby-Sawyer College men's tennis team edged Wheaton, 5-4 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at the Clark Tennis Courts.
The top duo of
Nathan Taschereau and
Myles Utell got the Chargers on the board after cruising to an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles.
Cass McCann and
Justin Pinard then put the Chargers up 2-0 with an 8-6 triumph at No. 2 doubles.
Taschereau and Utell also won their No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches, respectively, in straight sets. The match clinching point came in the five slot when
Dean Boodakian dispatched his opponent 7-5, 6-3 to lift Colby-Sawyer to a 5-4 win.
Wheaton (8-5) returns to action tomorrow afternoon on the road against Oneonta State at 1 p.m. Colby-Sawyer (9-8) hosts MCLA on Sunday at 11 a.m.
