NEW LONDON, N.H. - March 17, 2014 –The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team played five matches last week in the Orlando, Florida area against tough competition from around the country.
The Chargers began the week with a match against the Saints of Saint Lawrence University of Canton, N.Y.
Nathan Taschereau and
Myles Utell picked up wins at the top two flights, respectively, and
Dean Boodakian won at No. 4, but Colby-Sawyer lost the match, 6-3. -

Colby-Sawyer then fell to Wheaton College of Wheaton, Illinois, 8-1.
Clay Allen earned the Chargers' lone point of the day by winning his No. 5 singles match over Derek Mumaw 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (8-6). -

The Chargers then rattled off a pair of 7-2 victories over Wisconsin Lutheran of
Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Mount Saint Mary College of Newburgh, New York. Colby-Sawyer swept doubles play against Wisc.-Lutheran to take a 3-0 lead in the match. The team then won at the second, fourth, fifth and sixth singles spots. The Chargers took the top two doubles matches over Mount Saint Mary's and put the match away with five wins in singles play.

Unfortunately, the Chargers ended the week with a 7-2 loss to the 7-1 Bears of Ursinus College of Collegeville, Pennsylvania. Dean Boodakian and Ryan Sawyer combined for an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles and Myles Utell won his No. 2 singles match 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) to record the Chargers' two points. - BOX SCORE
The Chargers are slated to host Southern New Hampshire University on Wednesday at the Boss Tennis Center on the campus of Dartmouth College. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
