COLCHESTER, Vt. - November 8, 2014 - The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team was defeated by Saint Michael's 163-122 on Saturday afternoon.
RESULTSKrystyna Estrada won the 50 freestyle in a time of 25.50, beating the second place finisher by a second.
Estrada was joined by
Meghan Mamlock,
Elaine Miller and
Jen Gavell to win the 200 freestyle relay in convincing fashion. The team combined for a time of 1:47.26.
Samantha Dalphond had a strong meet on the one meter diving board this afternoon. She took first place with scores of 154.40 and 209.30.
The Chargers received a first place finish from freshman
Makenzie Welch. She touched the wall in 1:04.54 to win the 100 backstroke. Welch added two second place finishes in the 100 butterfly (1:08.39) and 50 backstroke (30.30).
Anna Gaskill turned in several strong performances throughout the afternoon, which was highlighted by a first place in the 200 IM. She also placed second in the 500 freestyle (5:42.57) and third in the 50 butterfly (30.07).
The Chargers will compete at Elms next Saturday and Plymouth next Sunday.
