PLYMOUTH, N.H. - November 16, 2014 - The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team earned a 166-119 victory over Plymouth State on Sunday afternoon.
The Chargers are 3-1 and will travel to Potsdam, N.Y. on Friday and Saturday for a two-day meet.
RESULTSColby-Sawyer won both of the relay events on Sunday. The team of
Makenzie Welch,
Krystyna Estrada,
Anna Gaskill and
Elaine Miller began the day by winning the 200 freestyle relay by more than three seconds after posting a time of 2:00.04. Miller then teamed with
Meghan Mamlock,
Alex Dumont and
Jen Gavell to take top honors in the final event of the afternoon, which was also a 200 freestyle relay. The team combined for a time of 1:50.24 to win by almost five seconds.
Five different Chargers earned wins in the 16 event meet.
Krystyna Estrada recorded three victories. She finished ahead of teammate
Makenzie Welch in the 100 IM in a time of 1:05.21. Welch was second in 1:06.09. Estrada also won the 50 breaststroke with a time of 34.30 and the 50 butterfly in 29.42.
Welch came away with a first place in the 100 butterfly in convincing fashion. She touched the wall at 1:07.80 and beat the second place finisher by three seconds.
In addition to the two relay wins,
Elaine Miller picked up a pair of individual wins. She won the 100 freestyle in 57.60 and the 50 backstroke in 31.56.
Anna Gaskill won the 200 freestyle by six seconds with a time of 2:09.45.
Samantha Dalphond took top honors in the 1 meter diving events with scores of 147.30 and 228.35.
