NEW LONDON, N.H. - November 1, 2014 - The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team has earned the top seed in the 2014 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Soccer Tournament.
In a rematch of last year's title contest, Colby-Sawyer will welcome Thomas College to New London on Tuesday, November 4 at 2:00 pm. for a NAC tournament semifinal match. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in Waterville, Maine earlier this season. Thomas, the tournament's fourth seed last season, edged the sixth seeded Chargers to win its second straight crown. The Chargers are making an appearance in the conference semifinals for the third time in the past eight seasons.
No. 4 Thomas recorded a 3-0 win over No. 5 Castleton in Friday's quarterfinals to advance to play Colby-Sawyer on Tuesday. For the Interactive Tournament Bracket - click

No. 3 Husson defeated No. 6 Maine Maritime, 3-1, to move on in the NAC Tournament to the semifinal round. The Eagles will travel to Henniker, N.H. to take on No. 2 New England College that earned a bye in the quarterfinals. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. The last time these two teams played, the Pilgrims earned a 2-0 victory over the Eagles after a scoreless first half.
Semifinal winners will square off for the conference championship on Saturday, November 8, at a time to be determined at the site of the higher seed.
The Chargers (11-5-2 overall) claimed the top seed in the conference tournament after posting a 7-1-1 record in NAC play and will earn a bye in Saturday's quarterfinal round. Second-seeded New England College (11-5-1 overall, 7-1-1 NAC) will also earn a bye in the quarterfinals.
Husson (10-7, 7-2) claimed the No. 3 seed, while Thomas (8-4-3, 5-2-2), Castleton (8-9-1, 5-3-1), and Maine Maritime (8-7-1, 5-3-1) earned the No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 seeds respectively to complete the six-team tournament field.
NAC predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.
The NAC Champion will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship.
