NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 25, 2014 – The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team earned a convincing 220-65 victory over Norwich in the Chargers' first home meet of the season at Knight Natatorium.
RESULTSThe Chargers, who took first place in every event, began the afternoon by winning the 200 medley relay. The team of
Makenzie Welch,
Krystyna Estrada,
Anna Gaskill and
Elaine Miller easily won the race with a time of 2:00.64.
Miller, Estrada,
Meghan Mamlock and
Jen Gavell ended the afternoon with another relay win. The team combined for a time of 1:45.28 to take the 200 freestyle relay.
Makenzie Welch added individual wins in the 50 backstroke (30.08), 100 backstroke (1:04.35), and 200 IM (2:27.51).
Hannah Willcutt took first place in the 1000 freestyle 13:12.77, while
Krystyna Estrada won the 200 freestyle.
Alex Dumont won the 50 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke in times of 34.91 and 1:15.49, respectively. She added a win in the 50 butterfly in a time of 31.18.
In addition to a relay win,
Anna Gaskill took the top spot in the 100 butterfly (1:07.49) and 500 freestyle 5:45.15.
Elaine Miller recorded a pair of victories in the 50 freestyle (25.84) and 100 freestyle (56.47).
Samantha Dalphond took first place in the 1 meter dive with point totals of 120.70 and 174.40.
The Chargers return to action on November 8 at Saint Michael's.
