POULTNEY, Vt. – October 18, 2014 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team won a pair of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matches on Saturday afternoon. The Chargers swept Green Mountain and Castleton, 3-0 to improve to 19-8 overall and 4-0 in the conference.
The Chargers play at Keene on Tuesday before hosting Norwich on Wednesday.
Colby-Sawyer 3, Green Mountain 0 - 25-8, 25-9, 25-16Stephanie Vecchio and
Jackie Keating each registered 10 kills as the Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team began the afternoon with a 3-0 sweep of Green Mountain College.
Colby-Sawyer had little difficulty in the win as they twice held the Eagles to under ten points and limited the hosts to just five kills in the match.
As a team, the Chargers hit an impressive .233 and only made a combined nine errors in the match.
Laura Smolinski engineered the offense with 31 assists while Vecchio, Keating, Smolinski and
Lexi Strong each had six digs. The leader in that department for the visitors was
Sarah Hannon who totaled seven digs in the win.
Green Mountain (1-15, 0-3 NAC) received three kills from Torie Cowell and two from Madison Wage. Megan Roy registered five assists while Celeste Bowers tied Hannon for a game-high seven digs.

Laura Smolinski kick started the attack with 29 assists, while
Gabrielle Rodriguez and
Kelsey Sullivan supplemented the offense with five kills each. Leading the Chargers defensively was
Lexi Strong who had 10 digs.
Castleton (7-12, 1-2 NAC) was led by Amanda Chambers who tallied seven kills and 11 digs. Kaylee Pratt chipped in with four kills, while Michaela Babineau led the Spartans with nine assists and nine digs. Kelly Mills recorded eight digs in a losing effort.
