Box Score NORWICH, Vt. - September 4, 2013 - The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team picked up its third straight win to begin the 2013 season after a 5-1 road victory at Norwich, on Wednesday night at Sabine Field.

Bailey Lamarre scored Norwich's first goal of the season (0-3-0, 0-0-0 GNAC), but it was too little too late as Colby-Sawyer opened the match scoring three goals in the first half and then tacking on two more in the second half to improve to 3-0-0 on the season.

Colby-Sawyer's Sarah Little opened the scoring just 3:31 into the match by stealing the ball away from the NU defense and then slipping a shot past NU senior goalkeeper Allison Hull (South Royalton, Vt.) to the bottom right side of the cage.

The Chargers added to their lead less than eight minutes later when Little sent a crossing pass in front of the goal that knocked off an NU defender and into the back of the net for an own goal, while leaving Hull no chance to recover.

In the 26th minute, Michelle Upham scored her first goal of the season working a pretty give and go with Lauren Bernard. Bernard sent a crossing pass from the end line to the center of the goal that Upham tapped home into an open net to give Colby-Sawyer a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.

Adrienne Bender scored twice in the second half in the 50th and 62nd minute to push the Chargers' lead to 5-0. Bender scored on a pass from Heather Faasse (Jefferson, N.J.) on the first goal with a left-footed shot from the top of the 18 that soared over the head of NU's Molly Miller (Raymond, Maine) and into the back of the net. She then tallied her third goal of the season after taking a crossing pass from the left from Marion James and beating Miller to the bottom right corner of the goal.

Colby-Sawyer's Karley Hamilton made three saves in 75:48 to pick up her third win of the season. Hull took the loss for Norwich to fall to 0-2 while making three saves on six shots on goal. Miller came on in the second half to make five saves on seven shots on goal.

Colby-Sawyer outshot Norwich 26-8 and had seven corner kicks to Norwich's one.
