BOX SCORE

The Chargers advance to 8-1 overall and 1-0 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play while the Badgers dip to 4-4 on the season and 1-2 in the NAC.

Colby-Sawyer struck with a goal in the ninth minute of play. Morgan Ekstrom crossed the ball to the left side of the net where Marion James settled the ball to then fire a shot into the upper left corner of the net beating Badgers goalkeeper Amber McCullock, which put the Chargers in the lead, 1-0.

The Badgers held the Chargers scoreless for much of the first half, until in the 41st minute, where Rachel Quaye delivered a through ball past the Badgers defense to teammate Michelle Upham who rifled a shot past a diving Badgers goalkeeper.

Play was even 17 minutes into the second half until Colby-Sawyer struck again to extend their lead to 3-0 on a cross from Adrienne Bender to Heather Faasse that resulted in a quick shot through a scrum that found side netting. Two minutes later, Lizzie Jorgensen finished off the scoring attack for the Chargers as she beat a Badgers defender one on one to the net putting a shot lower left past keeper McCullock which gave the Chargers a 4-0 lead with a little under 25 minutes remaining. This would conclude scoring for the day for either club who stalemated over the last 25 minutes.

Karley Hamilton didn't need to make a save in the contest for the Chargers, while Johnson St. starting goalie Amber McCullock made fifteen saves on 39 total shots by Colby-Sawyer.

The Badgers will return to action on Sunday when they host New England College at 2:30pm while the Chargers move on to play Sunday at Lyndon State College for a 3:30pm match.
