Volleyball Splits on Day 2 of Trinity Invite

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 HARTFORD, CONN. - September 14, 2013 - The Colby-Sawyer volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday to finish the Trinity Invite with a 2-1 record. The Chargers defeated Sage College 3-0 before falling to host Trinity 3-0. With the split the team moves to 5-4 overall.

GAME 1 vs. Sage College (25-12, 25-21, 25-13) - BOX SCORE

The Chargers were led by strong performances from senior middle hitters Courtney O'Hara and Emilee McBride. The duo combined for 19 kills while junior Jackie Keating added nine kills. Sophomore Laura Smolinski collected 33 assists and senior Ally Le-Bruno had a team-high 14 digs.

GAME 2 vs. Trinity (21-25, 21-25, 19-25) - BOX SCORE  

In the last match of the invitational, Colby-Sawyer was led by McBride once again who had 11 kills and hit .450. Senior Ally Le-Bruno led all players with 13 digs and sophomore setter Laura Smolinski posted a double-double with 18 assists and 10 digs.

The Chargers return to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Norwich University for a 6:00pm tilt with the Cadets.
