BANGOR, Maine - February 8, 2013 - Five Colby-Sawyer players reached double-figures in Friday night's 94-66 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory at Husson.
The win pushes Colby-Sawyer's record to 18-4 overall and 15-0 in the NAC. Husson falls to 7-13 overall and pulls even at 7-7 in conference action.
The 94 points is the team's highest total of the season and most since February 4, 2012 when they scored 101 at Thomas.
The Eagles hung in the game early but went into the half down 47-31 and never found enough momentum in the 2nd half seeing Colby-Sawyer slowly increase their lead.
Rebecca Young scored 14 points for the Eagles with 3 rebounds. Chrissy Larrabee added 13 points, 4 assist and 3 rebounds. The leading rebounders for Husson were Victoria McIntyre who brought down 8 rebounds with 10 points, and Kelli Murray 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals and 12 points.
Taylor DeSanty led the way for the Chargers scoring 21 points on the night.
Cailin Bullett added 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Kelsey Bragdon scored 13, while
Ashley Fruzzetti and
Kelsey Cahill rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points each. Cahill added a team best seven assists to go along with five boards.
Both teams are scheduled to be back in action in conference play tomorrow, weather permitting, with the Eagles hosting New England College at 5 PM, and the Chargers traveling to play Maine Maritime at 5 PM.
