Andrew Clothier (Matamata, New Zealand) would net the game-winner in the 66th minute of play leading the Chargers past the New England College Pilgrims 2-1 in NAC Quarterfinal action Sunday.

With the win the Chargers improve to 9-7-2 on the season and will travel to take on the seconded seeded Maine Maritime Academy Mariners in the NAC Semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Today's win is the first in the postseason since 2007. The loss closes out the Pilgrims' season as they finish 10-7-2 on the season.
New England College would strike first as junior Manny Arteage (Norwalk, Conn.) tallied his team-high 11th goal of the season assisted by first-year midfielder Rizy Misiri (Concord, N.H.) in the 16th minute of play.
The Chargers had two quality scoring opportunities in the opening half, but both were called back due to offsides. Colby-Sawyer would get the equalizer in the 31st minute as NEC would let in an own goal knotting the game at 1-1.
The Pilgrims had an early scoring chance in the second half as both Julian Yourawski (Peabody, Mass.) and Rizy Misiri (Concord, N.H.) each had a shot ricochet off the post in the 50th minute.
Charger
Andrew Clothier gave Colby-Sawyer the 2-1 lead in the 66th minute of play as he fired a shot from 40 yards out that just sailed over the reach of NEC keeper Robert Millard (Barrington, R.I.).
The Pilgrims would continue to turn up the offensive pressure in the final minutes of play finishing the game with the 10-3 advantage in shots on net but the Chargers would hold strong for the victory.
Picking up the win in net for Colby-Sawyer was
Nick Austin (Westerly, R.I.) finished with nine saves. Millard recorded one save in the loss.
