Box Score CASTINE, Maine - October 12, 2013 - The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team fell to Maine Maritime in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) battle on Saturday afternoon.
The Chargers drop to 8-5 overall and 4-2 in the NAC, while the Mariners improve to 7-4-2 overall and 5-1-1 in conference play.

Alex Ortega scored the Chargers' lone goal of the game midway through the second half. Ortega now has 12 goals and 27 points this season, which both rank tied for the second most in a single season in program history.
Maine Maritime scored in the 19th minute when Nicholas George was awarded a penalty kick after being dragged down in the box. George's kick was too quick for
Nick Austin and put the Mariners ahead 1-0.
Chad McDonnell made it 2-0 in the 60th minute after settling a Jonathan Reeks pass to the left of goal and depositing the ball to back of the net.
The Chargers got on the board four minutes later when
Alex Ortega's indirect kick sailed over the defense, and the outstretched hands of Jesse Perkins, to make it 2-1.
Jay Madison added an insurance goal for the Mariners in the 78th minute when George's touch-pass found Madison down the right sideline before finding the back of the net.
The Chargers finished with a 12-7 advantage in shots and 5-3 in corner kicks. Perkins stopped five shots to pick up the win, while Austin stopped one shot for Colby-Sawyer.
The Chargers will play next Saturday at Castleton. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. under the lights.
