Men's Soccer Ties Daniel Webster, 2-2

NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 15, 2012 – The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with Daniel Webster in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Chargers go to 1-4-1 on the season, while Daniel Webster is now 0-4-2

Daniel Webster took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute when a miscue by Colby-Sawyer resulted in an own goal.

The Chargers knotted the game at 1-1 just over a minute later when junior Drew Pehoviak (Monson, Mass.) took a feed from sophomore Alex Ortega (Milton, Vt.) and found the back of the net.

The game remained tied into halftime and for the first 17 minutes of the second frame before the Eagles went on top on a goal from senior Eliot Kilgore (Milford, N.H.).

In the 75th minute, Colby-Sawyer sophomore Ram Khalsa (Rio Vista, N.M.) pulled the Chargers even at 2-2 after depositing a feed from freshman Isaac Nichols (Sturbridge, Mass.).

The game would go scoreless for the remainder of regulation and two overtime periods.

Sophomore Nick Austin (Westerly, R.I.) made three saves in net for the Chargers, while Daniel Webster freshman keeper Sean Hamilton (Brookline, N.H.) stopped three shots.

The Chargers begin North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on Saturday at home against Green Mountain. Daniel Webster hosts Rivier on Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
