NEW LONDON, N.H. - April 20, 2012 - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team remained unbeaten in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division play with a 9-0 win over Lyndon on Friday afternoon.
The Chargers improve to 6-10 overall and sit atop the conference standings at 4-0. Lyndon falls to 2-7 overall and is 1-3 in NAC play.
Colby-Sawyer took a 3-0 lead after doubles play with convincing victories at each flight. The team of
Justin Pinard and
Jamie Thormann cruised to an 8-1 win over John Corey and Michael Howard at No. 1 doubles. At second doubles,
Reeve Fidler and
Nolan Foley defeated Mike Desmond and Daniel Weiner, 8-1. The No. 3 team of
Paul Holland and
Clay Allen gave the Chargers a 3-0 advantage with an 8-0 win over Wildens Fils and Joe Anderson.
Pinard, Fidler, and Allen each picked up singles wins. Fidler's win came against John Corey who had to retire in the second set. Also getting wins in singles play were
Eric Caples,
Will Berry and
Zac Skyrme. All three won in straight sets.
