NEW LONDON, N.H. - April 14, 2012 - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team handed Johnson State College its first loss in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division with an 8-1 win on Saturday afternoon. The Chargers sit atop the conference standings at 3-0.
The Chargers will host Lyndon on Thursday after the two teams were rained out earlier this week. Johnson will host Thomas tomorrow at noon.
The Chargers took two of three doubles matches after winning at No. 2 and No. 3. The Badgers' No. 1 duo of Ryan Joy and Chance Swafford picked up the team's lone point with an 8-5 victory over
Jamie Thormann and
Justin Pinard.
Colby-Sawyer took enough points to win the match after securing victories at the No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots.
Clay Allen did not drop a game in his straight sets win over Peter Leblanc in the No. 5 slot.
Eric Caples won 6-1, 6-0 over Ben Algar at No. 6 singles, while
Reeve Fidler wrapped up the win with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles over Kyle Young.
