Women's Basketball Opens NAC Play with 77-51 Win at Lyndon

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - November 29, 2012 - The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team began North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play with a 77-51 win at Lyndon on Thursday evening. 

The Chargers improve to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the NAC, while the Hornets drop to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play. 

Colby-Sawyer held the Hornets to 23.5% shooting from the floor and outrebounded the home team 57-42.

Sophomore Kelsey Cahill led Colby-Sawyer with her third double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Taylor DeSanty moved into second on Colby-Sawyer's all-time scoring list with 1361 career points after a 15-point performance tonight. Senior Cailin Bullett added 14 points and moved into third all-time in career assists with 432. Mari Meserve recorded a double-double of 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

The Chargers will host Johnson on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
