NORTHFIELD, Vt. - November 27, 2012 - The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team fell at Norwich in overtime, 86-79 in nonconference play Tuesday evening.
The Chargers fall to 0-3 and will host Lyndon in a North Atlantic Conference opener on Thursday night at 7:30 pm. Norwich pulls even at 2-2.
Colby-Sawyer held a 41-30 lead at the half thanks to 6-12 shooting from beyond the arc. The Cadets scored the first eight points of the second frame to pull within three, but the Chargers responded with the next 12 points to push the lead to the highest of the game at 53-38. Norwich came right back with a 12-0 run of their own to trim the deficit back to three. The home team continued their hot shooting from three-point range and eventually took a six point lead. Colby-Sawyer finished regulation on a 7-2 run, tying the game at 69-69 and sent the contest into overtime after a last second attempt by Norwich came up short.
The Cadets controlled the action in the extra five minutes, never letting Colby-Sawyer get closer than three points.
Norwich shot 50% for the game and from beyond the arc making 15 of 30 three-point attempts.
The Chargers were led by
Koang Thok's 21 points.
Mike Dias had his second double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Paul Holland added 14 points, while senior guard
Corey Willis chipped in 12 points and six assists.
Peter Donato pulled down a game-high 11 boards.
