Men’s Basketball Cruises Past Lyndon, 77-61

LYNDONVILLE, Vt. – January 26, 2012 – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team cruised to a 77-61 road victory over Lyndon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Thursday evening.

The Chargers improve to 11-6 overall and 8-2 in NAC play. Lyndon falls to 2-15 overall and 2-9 in conference action.

James Tobin led Colby-Sawyer with a career-high 20 points on 7-9 shooting, including 3-3 from beyond the arc. He also pulled down nine rebounds. Mike Dias recorded his second straight double-double with 15 points and 10 boards. Koang Thok added 14 points and eight rebounds, while Will Bardaglio scored 11 points.

Ben Sackett led all players with 22 points on 8-17 shooting. John Williams added 16 points and a game best 15 rebounds for the Hornets.

Colby-Sawyer shot 53.3% and held the Hornets to 28.9%, which resulted in a 45-27 lead for the visitors at the break. Colby-Sawyer's Will Bardaglio scored 11 points in the frame to lead all players. Ben Sackett scored 10 points to lead Lyndon.

The Hornets began the second half on a 21-4 run over the first seven minutes to cut the Colby-Sawyer lead to 49-48. The Chargers responded in the next nine minutes with a 22-5 run to push the advantage back to 18 at 71-53.

The Chargers outrebounded Lyndon 50-43 and held the home team to 32.9% from the floor. Colby-Sawyer shot 51% for the game.

Colby-Sawyer returns home on Saturday to host Johnson State at 3:00 pm. Lyndon travels to New England College on Saturday for a 3:00 pm tip.
