Men's Soccer Stumbles Late in 4-0 Loss to Brandeis

NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 28, 2011 – The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team allowed four goals in the final 13 minutes to fall 4-0 to Brandeis in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon.

Brandeis improves to 6-2, while Colby-Sawyer dips to 2-6-1.

The game was scoreless for the first 73 minutes before Brandeis broke through. Senior Theo Terris (Concord, Mass.) was able to put home his fourth goal of the season on an assist from freshman Tyler Savonen.

Savonen then connected on a goal five minutes later to give the Judges a two goal advantage.

Brandeis put the game out of reach after they scored twice in a 40 seconds span during the 84th minute. Sophomore Tudor Livadaru (Bronx, N.Y.) tallied his first goal of the season, while senior Alexander Farr (Nahant, Mass.) added his third for the Judges' fourth goal of the game.

Junior goalkeeper Blake Minchoff (Fiskdale, Mass.) earned his sixth win of the season, all coming via the clean sheet. Colby-Sawyer keeper Will Berry (Berlin, Vt.) made seven saves in taking the loss, but stopped his second penalty kick of the season.

Colby-Sawyer hosts the Univ. of Maine at Farmington on Saturday for a 1:00 pm contest. Brandeis hosts Rochester on Saturday with a 1:00 pm start.
