JOHNSON, Vt. – September 14, 2011 - The Colby-Sawyer College women's tennis team swept doubles action to key an 8-1 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory on Tuesday to move to 3-4 overall, 3-0 NAC. Johnson falls to 0-3, 0-1 NAC.
Colby-Sawyer's Liz Lincoln (Plymouth, Mass.) rolled to a victory at #1 singles 6-1, 6-1 over JSC's Emily Miller (Tucson, Ariz.) to lead the way for the Chargers.
Johnson's Kate Murphy (Westfield, Vt./North Country) picked up the Badgers point at #6 singles by outlasting Colby-Sawyer's
Brittany Day (Madison, N.H.) 6-1, 7-6 (7-5).
Johnson will play next at Castleton State College on Saturday, September 17 at 1:00 pm, while Colby-Sawyer will host Plymouth State on Tuesday, September 21 at 4:00 pm in their next match.
