NEW LONDON, N.H. - April 7, 2010 - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team snapped a two match losing skid with a 6-3 victory over Gordon today at Kelsey Courts. The Chargers improve to 4-8 overall and 2-3 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.
The team currently sits in seventh place in the conference standings. Gordon falls to 4-7 overall and 1-3 in the conference drop to the ninth spot in the race for the final playoff slot.
Gustav Norberg and
Adam Whitman got the Chargers off to a 1-0 start with a victory at No. 1 doubles. The Chargers took a 2-1 lead after
Chris Lavoie and
Jamie Thormann earned an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.
Norberg, Lavoie and Whitman also added singles victories to secure the Colby-Sawyer win.
Ben Dabush beat Carl Quinion at the second flight, 6-3, 6-4 to earn his fourth singles victory of the season.
The team returns to action on Saturday with a home match against Anna Maria at noon.
