Men's Basketball Falls at Norwich, 71-60

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - December 5, 2010 -
The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team was held to 31% shooting on Sunday in a 71-60 loss at Norwich, in the championship game of the Hockenbury Classic. The Chargers dip to 3-3, while the Cadets improve to 3-2.

The Cadets had four players in double-figures with sophomore Ryan Williams leading the pack. Williams recorded 19 points in the game.

Senior Cori Boston added in 12 points, two assists, and four rebounds. Junior Antonio Davis grabbed seven boards for the Cadets, two assists and two steals, all while helping put 10 additional points on the scoreboard.

One rebound shy of a double-double, freshman Pim Smulders collected 11 points and nine boards. He also recorded a team-best four blocks.

For Colby Sawyer, freshman Robbie Burke had a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards. He also was credited with two steals and two assists. His classmate, John Roberts scored 15 points and pulled down six rebounds.

Sophomore Corey Willis led his team in assists with four, while netting 13 points and three steals. Junior Will Bardaglio was the fourth Charger to put up big numbers in the championship game, tallying 11 points, one assist, and a team-best five steals.

Willis was named to the All-Tournament team.

The Chargers will host Bowdoin on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm in the Hogan Sports Center.
