Swimming & Diving Teams Celebrate Senior Day with Victory over Regis

NEW LONDON, N.H. - January 23, 2010 - The Colby-Sawyer men's and women's swimming & diving teams celebrated senior day with a victory over Regis. The men won 104-66, while the women earned a 129-65 win.

The graduating class of seniors consisting of Danielle Bowen, Ryan Martin, Dave Mikita, Kallyn Smith, and Stephanie Smith led the team in their final home meet of their careers. 

Bowen won the 100 IM in a time of 1:07.64, while recording a season best time of 1:15.91 in winning the 100 breaststroke. She also was a member of the 200 freestyle relay team that won in a time of 1:50.32.

Martin began his senior day with a victory in the 200 freestyle at 1:58.30. He followed with a win in the 500 freestyle touching the wall at 5:28.89.

Mikita won both diving events scoring 165 in the first one meter dive and 124.70 in the second event. 

Stephanie Smith started the day as a member of the winning 200 medley relay team. They clocked in at 2:09.57. She then won the 50 freestyle in 27.81. She also was a member of  the winning 200 freestyle relay team with senior teammate Bowen.

Kallyn Smith had a third place finish in the 200 backstroke in 2:53.08. She also competed in the 100 IM.

Sophomore Owen Worden had a great meet including a season best time of 1:09.31 en route to a victory of the 100 breaststroke. He also won the 1000 freestyle.

Freshman Katherine Donohue performed well today with season best times in the 100 IM, 100 freestyle and in the first leg of the 200 freestyle relay. She placed second in the 100 IM (1:11.52) and won the 100 freestyle (1:01.59).
