Dave Rosso made Saturday's game a memorable one against Anna Maria. He scored his 1000th career point with eight minutes to play and then nailed the game-winning three pointer with nine seconds to go to lift Colby-Sawyer to a 58-57 come from behind victory.
The win improves the Chargers to 9-6 overall, and 2-1 in the TCCC, while the AMCATS fall to 6-9 on the season, and 1-2 in TCCC play.
In an always important conference game, the AMCATS played stellar defense in the first-half to hold Colby-Sawyer, the highest scoring team in the conference, to just 21total points. Anna Maria outshot the Chargers 53.8%- 31.0% from the field, while holding the visitors to just 18.8% (3-16) from downtown. The AMCATS used a physical attack (16-2 points in paint advantage, and nine second chance points) and a late 5-0 run to take a 30-21 lead into intermission.
The Chargers came storming out of the gate in the second half, going on an early 13-2 run to cut the AMCAT lead to just one.
Will Bardaglio scored 11 of the 13 points during the run, including three field goals from beyond the arc. Bardaglio was the star for the visitors, scoring 17of his game-high 20 points in the second half, including five three-pointers in the second frame.
With 3:16 remaining, the AMCATS held a 54-48 advantage, however, two layups from freshman
Jason Chevrefils and a Bardaglio three- pointer gave the visitors a one-point advantage with 2:03 to go.
The next possession, Junior De La Hoz hit a three to regain the lead for the AMCATS with 1:33 to go.
With 42 seconds to go, Derek Johnson grabbed what looked to be a huge offensive rebound after a missed three-pointer by Junior De La Hoz, however, with 26 seconds remaining a two-point lead, the AMCATS couldn't capitalize on a lay-up attempt.

Dave Rosso, who buried the open look on the near side wing for the game-winning three-pointer.
Colby-Sawyer shot a much-improved percentage in the second-half, out-shooting the AMCATS 42.9%-36.7% from field and more importantly, 35.3% (6-17) beyond the arc. Colby-Sawyer also matched the AMCATS physical play in the paint, as the AMCATS only outscored the Chargers 14-12 down low, while relinquishing 16 second chance points.

Jon Chaloux (12 points), while Anthony Click (12 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists), Chris Pinsonault (9 points, 7 rebounds), Junior De La Hoz (10 points) and Ryan Joyal (10 points) contributed for the AMCATS.
Colby-Sawyer returns to action at Curry on Tuesday. Tip time is scheduled for 8:00 pm.
