Men's Basketball Falls to Keene State, 85-82 in Season Opener

CONCORD, N.H. - November 15, 2009 -
The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team dropped its season opener to Keene State, 85-82 at the 2009 Jacob's Bridge Through Autism Classic.

In the first game of the tournament, Plymouth State earned a 65-45 victory over New England College.

Senior Jon Chaloux led the Chargers with a double-double, including team highs of 21 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Dave Rosso was perfect from the floor hitting 7 of 7 shots for 16 points.

The Chargers had an 11 point lead at half time and were up as much as 16 late in the first 20 minutes. The Owls kept battling back throughout the second half and finished the game on a 10-2 run overcoming a five-point deficit with two and a half minutes to play.

Sophomore Will Bardaglio and freshmen Corey Willis and Jason Chevrefils each added double-figure points as part of the starting lineup.

The Chargers will travel to Rivier College to play in a two-day tournament. Colby-Sawyer will start the action on Friday night with an 8:00 pm game against Daniel Webster.
