NEW LONDON, N.H. – November 3, 2015 – Colby-Sawyer freshman
Martha Aschale (Cambridge, Mass.) has been named the 2015 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women Cross Country Rookie of the Year.
Aschale also was named to the All-NAC First Team along with junior
Emily Lopez (Lincolnville, Maine) and sophomore
Lauren Oligny (Plaistow, N.H.).
Landing on the All-NAC Second Team were junior
Nicole Morris (Salisbury, Vt.), senior
Jordan Springmann (Mont Vernon, N.H.) and senior
Rachel Springmann (Mont Vernon, N.H.).
Lyndsay Bisaccio was named NAC Coach of the Year for the second straight season. Junior
Lea Taylor (Newburyport, Mass.) was selected to the Sportsmanship Team.
The medalist and the next seven finishers at the NAC Championship are honored as All-Conference First Team runners, while the next seven are named to the All-Conference Second Team. To view all of the honorees click
HEREAschale has had a great rookie season for the Chargers. She recorded her best finish at the 2015 NAC Championship as she placed fifth, crossing the line at 21:54. The rookie recorded her season best time, 20:32, at the James Early Invitational as she placed 66th. She earned a top-15 finish at the Mayflower Open as she placed 12th in a time of 21:55. Aschale also earned a 29th place finish at the Southern Vermont Invitational (25:42) and a 166th place finish at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational (21:29). The freshman earned two NAC Rookie of the Week honors this season.
Lopez and Oligny earned their second straight nod to the All-NAC First Team after placing second and third. Lopez finished in 20:36.56, while Oligny clocked in at 20:43.47. Lopez has three top-four place finishes this season and Oligny has three top-five finishes.

Jordan Springmann and
Rachel Springmann turned in their most impressive runs of the season when it counted the most to help the Chargers lift the championship trophy. Jordan placed ninth in 22:10.83, while Rachel was close behind in 11th at 22:18.56.
Nicole Morris turned in her second top-15 finish by placing 14th in 22:31.59 to earn All-NAC Second Team accolades.
Bisaccio's squad was selected as the preseason favorite to win the 2015 title and her team did not disappoint. The Chargers earned their second-consecutive team championship after scoring 30 points with six runners in the top 15 and three in the top-five. The fourth-year mentor also saw student-athlete
Martha Aschale complete the NAC Championship course in a time of 21:54, which was good enough to earn her fifth place and Rookie of the Year honors. During the season, Colby-Sawyer also placed first at the Mayflower Open and took home second place at the Southern Vermont Invitational.
New to the conference this season is the selection of a Sportsmanship Team which is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees are individuals who have positively affected the women's cross country culture and environment and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity.
Lea Taylor was selected to represent the Chargers.
