WATERFORD, Conn. - November 14, 2015 - Sophomore
Lauren Oligny (Plaistow, N.H.) came away with the Colby-Sawyer women's cross country program's best finish at the NCAA Regional's by placing 90th. The Chargers finished the 6k race in 26th out of 56 teams at the Harkness Memorial State Park.
RESULTSColby-Sawyer was the top finisher from the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) that featured runners from seven other institutions.
Oligny broke the top-100 for the first time in the seven year program history. She finished 90th out of 390 competitors in a time of 23:33.20. Oligny certainly likes the course hosted by Connecticut College as she set a school record there less than a month ago. Saturday's time is the second fastest 6k time in the record books.
Junior
Emily Lopez was the second Charger to finish as she placed 145th with the program's sixth fastest time of 24:16.80. Lopez also performed well at the Harkness Memorial State Park back in October when she recorded the program's third fastest time.
NAC Rookie of the Year
Martha Aschale turned in her fastest career 6k time to place 165th in 24:39.80.
The remaining four Charger finishes also recorded personal records on Saturday. Junior
