WHITINGHAM, Vt. - January 27, 2014 - Colby-Sawyer freshman Kristin Ellis (South Easton, Mass.) has been named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week.

Ellis led the Chargers in a 2-0 week with 13.5 points per game on 93 percent shooting. She scored 27 points in 28 minutes of action off the bench. Ellis started the week with an 8-for-9, 17-point effort in a win over Green Mountain and followed with a 5-for-5, 10-point effort in a gritty 71-68 road win at New England College. She also added 3.5 rebounds per game to go along with three blocks, two assists and a pair of steals.

The Chargers sit in fourth place in the NAC standings with a 7-3 record. Colby-Sawyer has eight conference games remaining with four on the road and four at home. The team returns to the court on Friday, January 31 with a 5:30 p.m. contest at Thomas College. Colby-Sawyer defeated Thomas 83-35 earlier this season at home.
